I’m not here to tell you that you should or shouldn’t watch awards shows. That’s your call. I know some people can’t handle any of the politics that are infused into celebrities patting each other on the back for 3 hours. I used to LOVE watching them but I don’t any more because the pandemic kept movies out of the theaters and now that I have 3 kids, I don’t really have time to watch much TV (and when I do, it’s usually sports).
That being said, I’m SOOOO excited to see that two Marvel shows scored a combined TWENTY EIGHT Emmy nominations. I LOVED “WandaVision”. I mean i LOVED it. And I’m THRILLED that it racked up TWENTY THREE of the twenty eight. Elizabeth Olson (Wanda Maximoff) over the nine episodes was INCREDIBLE. Her role/character changed over about 6 times and she NAILED it.
I don’t want to pat myself on the back quite yet but I think the academy listened to me:
So did Paul Bettany (Vision) who is also nominated AND KATHRYN HAHN (Agatha Harkness)! As for “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”? I didn’t love nearly as much as WandaVision but if you did, that’s cool. And by the way, I’m certain there will be MULTIPLE nominations next year for “LOKI” (it’s not eligible this year)
Also receiving at least one Emmy nomination that the nerd inside me is excited about: “The Boys” (Best Drama), “The Mandalorian” (Best Drama + a bunch of others) & “Cobra Kai” (Best Comedy). Here’s the FULL list of Emmy nominations.
Cheers!
