Hi it’s JD Justice from Wickett’s World, over the years I’ve been in many NCAA Bracket pools. I’ve won some and placed in many more. The goal is to always win, but sometimes placing in the top three will pay decent. We now know the teams and for what it’s worth here is how I look at things when filling out my bracket during a normal non Covid 19 year. Try it when you fill out your Basketball Mayhem bracket with ESPN Des Moines.
There are always the dominant schools in the top seeds that barring some miraculous upset in the early rounds usually get to the top. This year is an exception, but the Kentucky’s, Duke’s or North Carolina’s are the what you call automatic first 2 game winners in the bracket. Then there are the schools that come behind that group who are strong year after year these are the Big Ten schools and you could even make a case for a couple of them in the same breath as the dominant schools (Michigan).
After that I look at the schools that had strength of schedule and are they on a run going into the tournament. Then finally I look at matchups per team. Do they have a solid defense are they one dimensional etc. This is a very basic way to look at things, but has always worked for me. Good Luck with your bracket and it’s going to be a different look this year, but the tournament is always fun. Don’t forget to play Basketball Mayhem for a chance to win some great prizes on 1350 ESPN Des Moines.
